Cyberpunk, abandoned house used as hideout for thieves

Viola closed down her navigator as she reached the old house. Definitely pre-war and abandoned, as expected.

Finding this place had been a bit difficult. There was no transit out here, and anyone still living in a place like this was either a junkie or someone you didn't want to mess with. Probably both. Anyway, the building was the old-school 21st century concrete and glass, but the latter was pretty much gone by now. Lots of ways to keep a look out, approaching straight on from the street like she was would get her spotted if they had one. Alright, up it was.

She pulled her grapple gun off the holster on her leg and shot it up the building she was standing next to. She braced for the tug and felt herself pulled skyward a few seconds later. With practiced ease, she detached from the grapple and landed on her feet on a patio near the roof.

Fortunately there was no one inside this building, but she still wasn't sure about her target. Stealing from thieves with too many around was a good way to get killed. Actually, it wasn't how many of them, it was just the "getting caught" part that was an issue. Still, always ways around that if you're careful. She turned a dial on her goggles to get a thermal view of the building in front of her. A few people were on the top floor, a few more a couple stories down, and just one guy on the street. Were they just cocky or not have much worth protecting? It better not be the latter. Word was this group hit a conference a week ago and stole some brand new tech. If that was true though, why not have more muscle here?

Viola felt lots of these thoughts run through her head as she weighed her options. With how lax this all felt, she could probably get in and out without any issue. Maybe just check the place out to be sure it wasn't here.

She watched them all for a few minutes longer, trying to see if there was any movement from anyone that she needed to worry about. It all looked clear, almost worryingly so.

After another minute, she sighed. "Eh,fuck it." She raised her grapple gun again and pointed it toward the opposite roof. Go time.
