Anna

Pure slice-of-life, home office with wood and florals

Anna sat at her computer, working on the design. Her stylus moved across the tablet with a practiced hand as she tried to get the right curves. Undo. Sketch the same line again. Undo. Little more of a curve at the end and...there we go, better. The bird was looking better now, more like the sparrow it was supposed to be.

She sat back and looked at the design some more. The proportions between the bird and wreath were good, and the level of detail should hold up to it being put on the sign. She put her pen down and rubbed her eyes while she thought a bit more. She needed the wings and feathers soon, or she could start on the actual flowers in the wreath. What to do first? This was the hardest part. The overall picture was there, it just needed to be filled in and she never knew where to start.

She looked at the clock on her computer and saw it was after 1. She needed to make more progress, but she also needed some sleep. This florist wanted some complicated work done, and it was taking time, a bit more than Anna had counted on. It was what it was though, she was just wasting time thinking about it.

She picked up the stylus again and hid the bird layers in the program. Flowers first, even though it was going to be a pain. On her other screen, she opened up the pictures the florist had sent her. Some roses, orchids, poppies... It needed to be something with enough color to pop, but not so much she couldn't balance it on the other side of the wreath. She opted for a more subtle pink rose to start and began drawing that, stifling a yawn as she did. Gradually, she moved around the wreath and filled it in with the outlines of other flowers with some rough coloring. The balance was decent at least. She'd put the brighter flowers on the left and right sides, framing the bird in the middle, or so she hoped. She put the bird back in place and moved it around a little bit before it looked like it was framed right.

She blinked hard and rubbed her eyes, yawning again. Another look at the clock showed it was almost 2. Ugh...

She shook her head, saved her work again, and walked back to her bed. Then, she let out an exaggerated sigh and flopped face down on the covers, clothes still on. She needed to stop doing this, but with school, there weren't enough hours in the day.
